HUDSpeed2 & HUDLogviewer ======================== The ftp directory now contains the folder HUDSpeed2, in which are:- HUDSpeed2.apk HUDLogviewer.apk HUDSpeed2.bas HUDLogviewer.bas hudviewhelp.html (which needs to be in rfo-basic/data if running under Editor) And this text as HUDSpeed2.txt HUDSpeed2 Is an enhancement to HUDSpeed, and the description in the original HUDSpeed posting still applies. The testing for gps coverage and strength has been improved and a few small bugs fixed. However what is NEW is that every trip automatically creates a logfile which can subsequently be viewed on a 'Google' static map along with statistics of time, average speed etc. A 'trip' commences every time HUDSpeed2 is activated and ends when HUDSpeed2 is properly closed. Note that ending the program any other way (eg switching off or task killer) may lose or corrupt the logfile. The logfile is viewed by the separate app HUDLogviewer which is fully described below:- HUDLogviewer This free-standing app analyses and presents Logfiles recorded by HUDSpeed2. On starting, HUDLogviewer will list all of the Logfiles present on the device (in Folder sdcard/hudlogs/). Up to 36 Logs can be listed on a screen, identified by the Event Date in the format 'DD Mth YYYY@hh:mm', (eg 14 Oct 2016@13:17 If there are more than 36 Logs, continuation screen(s) can be accessed using the 'More>' and '1/2 second) touch, and a confirmation will be solicited prior to Deletion. Logs can also be deleted (from the Folder named above) using any Android File Manager such as Astro. A short touch will Open the chosen Log for analysis. A Text report of the Trip will be displayed on the Left side of the Screen, showing the times of significant events and listing relevant statistics. The Right Hand half of the Screen is used to display the track and passage of the Trip using the brilliant facilities of Google Maps Static API. This means that Internet Access is required to use this feature. If Internet access is not available a message will display to that effect. The Left Hand Side data is independent of Google Maps and of Internet connection and so still relevant. By default, the Right Hand Side will display a Roadmap on a scale suitable to containing the whole of the Trip, and will show the entire actual track recorded thereon. Options below the map allow for zoom in/out (within the ranges allowed by Google) and a choice of map style (roadmap, terrain or hybrid). A Menu is available on touching the three-dot symbol at the top right corner of the map. From the initial Logfile selection screen the menu offers simply "Help" or "Exit". From the map screen a wider Menu is offered. As well as "Exit" and "Help", from this Menu, the event can be 're-played' at 10x or 100x actual speed, with a progress bar below showing momentary time, distance, speed and rolling average. This replay can be 'pause'd for consideration and then 'resume'd (or abandoned) The map can be re-centred and re-drawn (to the same scale) by touching the desired new centre location. Alternatively, the 'back' key provides an Exit path. Enjoy!!
